An archipelago of more than 1,800 islands creates an unparalleled water recreation land. Scenic narrated boat tours meander through channels, between islands and under bridges from spring through fall, sharing the history of the region.

Any of our daytime tours offer an optional stop at Boldt Castle at the end of the tour. If you choose to disembark at the castle you can purchase the castle admission at the ticket booth on the island.
Boldt Castle Boldt Castle is a major landmark and tourist attraction in the Thousand Islands region of the U.S. state of New York. Open to guests seasonally between mid-May and mid-October, it is located on Heart Island in the Saint Lawrence River. Heart Island is part of the Town of Alexandria, in Jefferson County.

Singer Castle on Dark Island is open to the public to visitors who wish to have a guided tour of the intricate architecture, beautiful furnishings and puzzling secret passages of our magnificent 100-year old Castle.


The Sackets Harbor Historical Society was started in the mid-1970s by a core group of residents determined to preserve the historic buildings in Sackets Harbor and to help revitalize the community. The Historical Society was formally chartered by the New York State Department of Education in 1976, and was granted charitable status under section 501(c)(3) by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service soon thereafter.

Black River Running TrailThe Black River Trail is a 4.5 mile stretch of paved trail, which has been converter from an old rail road bed. The terrain is woodland and follows the Black River for 3.5 mile. This trail presents recreational opportunities for hiking, jogging, biking, snow shoeing and cross country skiing.
